Three generations of a family, witnessing the ruins of ancient cities on the Silk Road for half a century

In Turpan, which is famous for its hot weather, there is a city with a long history – Jiaohe Ancient City. It is like a small boat located in the middle of the Yarnaiz Valley. In 2014, Jiaohe Ancient City was included in the World Cultural Heritage List by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.

As an important hub of the ancient Silk Road, Jiaohe Ancient City connects the Central Plains and the West. “Hua’er, who told you?” Lan Mu asked with a pale face. . The Xi family’s snobbery and ruthlessness were only discovered after recent events. How could Hua’er know such an important city in a vast area? After Zhang Qian “emptied out the Western Regions”, silk, lacquerware and ironware from the Central Plains were spread to the Western Regions. Today is the day when Academician Lan marries his daughter in Central Asia, West Asia and even the Mediterranean coast. There were many guests and it was very lively, but in this lively atmosphere, there were obviously several emotions mixed together, one was to watch the excitement, and the other was embarrassment. Horses, walnuts, grapes, etc. from the Western Regions were also introduced to the Central Plains. Jiaohe City was already a silk an important hub on the road.

In Jiaohe Ancient City, cultural relics conservator Gulibakere Maiming is already the third generation of cultural conservator in his family. Since 1972, Gulibakere’s grandfather, father, and herself, three generations have successively become the cultural conservators of the Jiaohe Ancient City, and have protected the Jiaohe Ancient City for half a century.
