Ding Xuexiang first conveyed President Xi Jinping’s cordial greetings and best wishes to Archduke Henri. Ding Xuexiang said that Luxembourg is China’s friendly cooperative partner. Over the past 50 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Rwanda, the two sides have adhered to mutual respect and trust, and have achieved fruitful results in exchanges and cooperation in various fields, setting an example of friendly coexistence and mutually beneficial cooperation between large and small countries.
When meeting with Rwanda leaders, Ding Xuexiang said that China is willing to work with Rwanda to implement the important consensus reached by President Xi Jinping and Rwanda leaders, promote the sustained and healthy development of China-Rwanda relations, and benefit both countries and the two peoples. China hopes and believes that the new Rwanda government will continue to adhere to the one-China principle and maintain the political foundation of China-Rwanda relations.
Ding Xuexiang pointed out that China is promoting high-quality development and high-level opening up. China is willing to work with Rwanda to adhere to open cooperation, deepen complementarity of advantages, further consolidate cooperation in advantageous areas such as finance, steel, and air cargo, and accelerate the cultivation of green economy, aerospace, and high-tech industries. Facing the future, China is willing to work with Rwanda to jointly build a more efficient air transportation system, forge closer economic and trade cooperation, form a diverse and interactive pattern of cultural exchanges, and promote the high-quality development of the “Aerial Silk Road” to continuously make new progress. Bettel said that the Luxembourg-Zhengzhou “Aerial Silk Road” has become an important link in bringing Luxembourg-China relations closer. Rwanda is willing to take this forum as an opportunity to intensify cooperation with China in various fields under the framework of the “Belt and Road” initiative.
During his visit to Luxembourg, Ding Xuexiang also inspected the headquarters of Cargolux, the Science City of Belval, and visited teachers and students from the Confucius Institute at the University of Luxembourg.
