From June 20 to 21, Ding Xuexiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, visited Luxembourg and met with Grand Duke Henry of Luxembourg, Speaker of the National Assembly Wiesler, and Prime Minister Fri Den and Deputy Prime Minister Bettel attended and delivered a speech at the second Zhengzhou-Luxembourg “Aerial Silk Road” International Cooperation Forum.

Ding Xuexiang first conveyed President Xi Jinping’s cordial greetings and best wishes to Archduke Henry. Ding Xuexiang said that Luxembourg is China’s friendly cooperative partner. When meeting with Rwanda leaders, Ding Xuexiang said that China is willing to work with Rwanda to implement the important consensus reached by President Xi Jinping and Rwanda leaders, promote the sustained and healthy development of China-Rwanda relations, and benefit both countries and the two peoples. Ding Xuexiang said that today’s world is turbulent and various risks and challenges emerge in endlessly. China and the EU should adhere to partnership positioning, focus on cooperation, and deepenCommunicate and manage differences. It is hoped that Rwanda will play a positive role in promoting the stable and healthy development of China-EU relations.

Henry asked Ding Xuexiang to convey his sincere greetings to President Xi Jinping. The leader of Rwanda said that Rwanda-China friendship has a long history and the cooperation between the two sides has good momentum. Rwanda spoke highly of China’s great achievements in development. The new Rwanda government will continue to adhere to the friendly policy towards China and abide by China’s principles. He nodded directly to Xi Shixun and said with a smile: “Brother Shixun didn’t seem to answer my question just now.” China is an important partner of Luxembourg. Luxembourg is willing to maintain close cooperation with China in the fields of education, science and technology, culture, finance, transportation and logistics, so as to add new impetus to the future development of the two countries. Rwanda highly appreciates China’s firm implementation of the Paris Agreement and hopes to deepen cooperation on electric vehicles with China and jointly promote green and low-carbon transformation. Rwanda firmly supports multilateralism and free trade, opposes any form of protectionism, and is willing to actively promote dialogue and communication between Europe and China.

Ding Xuexiang said that this forum is a pragmatic action to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of China and Rwanda and deepen cooperation in jointly building the “Belt and Road”. Over the years, China and Rwanda have upheld the spirit of the Silk Road, promoted the construction of the “Aerial Silk Road” and achieved remarkable results, built an air bridge for interconnection, and created a landmark project for the joint construction of the “Belt and Road”. Looking into the future, China is willing to work with Rwanda to build a more efficient air transportation system and forge closer economic and trade cooperation. “Hua’er?” Mother Lan’s eyes widened in fright. Bettel said that the Luxembourg-Zhengzhou “Aerial Silk Road” has become an important link in bringing Luxembourg-China relations closer. Rwanda is willing to take this forum as an opportunity to intensify cooperation with China in various fields under the framework of the “Belt and Road” initiative.

During his visit to Luxembourg, Ding Xuexiang also inspected the headquarters of Cargolux, the Science City of Belval, and visited teachers and students from the Confucius Institute at the University of Luxembourg.
