“A man is sitting in the clouds, wearing a cloud shoulder and a necklace around his neck, meaning, you can divorce your wife. This is simply a good opportunity that the world has fallen in love with and cannot ask for. There are two pairs of wings behind him. Powerful… It sounds like this is a character from mythology, and he has always been ‘living’ in this stone carving of mine. How come these elements from different nations and cultures are so harmonious? Mixing together? Don’t forget, my ‘birthplace’ Quanzhou has witnessed the cultural prosperity and integration brought by the ‘Maritime Silk Road’, and also demonstrated the innovation and tolerance of Chinese traditional culture.”

——A self-narration from the Nestorian four-winged angel stone carvings of the Yuan Dynasty
